For many of you, you have just received the Carlisle Christmas card. I don’t want to post the card here yet, incase some of you haven’t received yours yet. I wanted to share a bit more about the word choice for the year that I mentioned on the back of the card. I got the idea a couple year ago from an inspiring artist by the name of Christine Kane. She had the wonderful idea to take away the New Year’s resolution that we promise ourselves each year and disappoint ourselves more times than not, by breaking the resolution. She wrote an awesome blog entry here about choosing a word for the year instead. Go check it out!
I didn’t choose a word the first year, but after reading other people’s stories about how their word affected their life, I decided to give it a try. So, last year I picked the word JOY. I didn’t put it all over the house. I didn’t put it in a mantra each day. I didn’t even really think about it past that one day that I chose it. It just started to play out here and there and the word started to pop up in my life. Who could have known that the year that was so full of change, fear, and a HUGE diagnoses…would be filled with so much JOY. I could not have chosen a more perfect word to play out for my year and I am so grateful for all that it has brought into my life!
This year’s word is going to be INTENTIONAL. There is nothing more to say than, this word spoke to me and I am so curious to all that it will bring into my life! What’s your word going to be?
